SPRINGFIELD — Greater Springfield Dominican Americans converged on City Hall Saturday to celebrate the 178th anniversary of the Dominican Republic’s declaration of independence from Haiti and to witness the raising of the country’s red, white and blue flag over Court Square.
Mayor Dominic J, Sarno presented a proclamation congratulating the community and thanking them for their hard work that benefits the city as a whole.
