Reflections from MLK Day – Milligan Stampede – The Stampede

This past Monday the 16, Milligan students were given a day off from classes in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Students were encouraged to view their day off as a day on, in order to celebrate the life and legacy of the influential civil rights leader through acts of service within their community.
We at the Stampede wanted to highlight a few experiences of students, in order to commemorate their efforts.
Boones Creek Christian Church – Packing Food for Haiti
“Volunteering with Miss Carrie was Awesome. The opportunity to do something bigger than yourself is always a memorable experience. And to know that what you are doing will help make it all the better.”

Kids Against Hunger
“Volunteering with Kids Against Hunger yesterday was a great experience for our softball team to work together and practice servant leadership. We were grateful for the opportunity to honor Martin Luther King Jr. while supporting a great cause.”
