Haitian Flag Raising In West Orange Includes Songs, Speakers – Patch

WEST ORANGE, NJ — A flag raising ceremony that paid tribute to Haiti recently took place in West Orange.
During the ceremony, which took place in May, participants honored the 219th anniversary of the creation of the Haitian flag.
The event was attended by several town officials and pastors from nearby communities, along with West Orange residents, who listed attentively as Sgt. Nelson Abraham Cyprien of the U.S. Army delivered a keynote address.
Councilwoman Tammy Williams, Council President Susan McCartney, HRC Commissioner Elizabeth Milhim, Natacha Clesca-Charlemange and Councilman Bill Rutherford were among those in attendance.
