Haitian Creole Dual Language Program – Palm Beach Schools

Starting in the 2022-2023 school year, Rolling Green Elementary School will offer an in-house dual language Haitian Creole program for incoming kindergarten students. The program will be the first of its kind in the School District of Palm Beach County, and the only two-way dual language immersion Haitian Creole program in the state of Florida.
By receiving content area instruction in both English and Haitian Creole, students in the program will be able to achieve proficiency in two languages, attain high levels of academic achievement, and develop cross-cultural competence.
Any student entering kindergarten at Rolling Green Elementary is eligible to apply for the program. Priority will be given to incoming kindergarten students who reside within Rolling Green’s attendance boundary.
This includes students who are not zoned for the school, but who enter via the Controlled Open Enrollment (COE) process. Additional information about COE and the application can be found at mypbchoiceapp.com. The COE application deadline is Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Space is limited and placement is not guaranteed.
An in-person informational meeting will be held at Rolling Green Elementary on Tuesday, April 19 at 5:30 p.m. The school is located at 550 Miner Rd., Boynton Beach, FL 33435. For additional information, contact Detrice Clayton – Teacher, ESOL Coordinator at (561) 202-9510 or [email protected].
