Haiti phone calls class action – Courthouse News Service
NEW YORK — The Second Circuit reversed dismissal of a class action brought by U.S. residents who allege that multinational corporations conspired with Haitian officials to fix the prices of remittances and telephone calls to Haiti. The “act of state” doctrine does not bar this antitrust action because no official act of Haiti must be deemed invalid for Haitian government officials to be found liable.
