Duluth, GA Frances Marie Knight (95) of Cumming, GA passed away on March, 14, 2022.
Frances was born November 12, 1926 in Jonesboro, AR to Tasso and Eunice Camp Johnson.
Frances graduated from Leon County High School in Tallahassee, FL. She attended Ringling School of Arts in Sarasota, FL and Traphagen School of Fashions in New York City and was later employed as a graphic artist with Georgia Pacific and Scientific Atlanta.
Frances was a member of Peachtree Christian Church and attended New Bethany Baptist Church where she had been active in Sunday School and numerous Senior activities. She was a talented designer and created the blueprints for the family’s beloved lake house in Buford. She was also a gifted seamstress and created custom wedding gowns for her daughters and one granddaughter. Later in life, Frances tailored over 350 dresses to be delivered by missionaries to orphans in Haiti. She also loved to play Bridge and was a member of several Bridge Clubs in Hall and Gwinnett Counties.
Frances is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles Lindsey Knight, her parents Tasso and Eunice Johnson, and her sister Mary Jo Hansen.
Frances is survived by her sons, Tasso (Angelia) Knight and Jeff (Cheryl) Knight; her daughters Merrie (Clay) Fagan and Stormie (David) Ellwanger; 7 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the charity of your choice.
Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA is in charge of arrangements.
