Economist warns of hyperinflationary process in Haiti – Prensa Latina

According to the president of the Association of Economists, the current inflation estimated at 30% is far from the reality of the prices of goods and services.
‘These, as well as the prices of oil derivatives, have doubled or even tripled’,said the expert who criticized the more than doubling of the cost of gasoline.
Labossière assured that the argument put forward by the Government to justify the increase in prices of fuel is not sustainable, because ‘the Haitian authorities do not have the instruments to spend money from the subsidy of petroleum derivates’.
For this reason, he advocates for the budgetary option and recommends the executive to spend funds wisely in operations that can have some impact on the national economy.
